Our purpose is to create a Forever Family where no one “ages out.” That is what we mean when we say, “Forever.”
Many want to prevent young adults from becoming homeless after leaving foster care, where they often lack support systems. They know every contribution to River Jordan helps keep foster kids off the streets and in homes, holding down jobs, paying their bills and being responsible young adults.
Donations also come because people desire to provide a fair chance to vulnerable youth, helping them with housing, education, and employment opportunities. They know these kids have no place to go without a community who cares about them, and River Jordan provides that community.
Businesses donate to River Jordan as a way to invest in the community, fostering stability, growth, breaking cycles of poverty and reducing long-term societal costs associated with crime, unemployment, homelessness, and instability.
Companies also often support River Jordan as part of their CSR efforts, enhancing their reputation and contributing to positive social change.
Prevention is our #1 priority. We seek to prepare and equip youth starting at age 14 with resources and skills necessary to build recovery capital before they age out of foster care.
Empowering those who have experienced foster care to thrive, take responsibility of their own individual lives and become productive members of society.
We know how to meet you where you are. That means we adapt our approach to work with each unique individual so you are thriving.
Forever is our promise to those we serve. Whether it is life skills, coaching, peer support or transitional housing, we are a forever family for foster care youth and alumni.
My name is Aland Stamps, and I want to personally welcome you to River Jordan. As someone who grew up in the foster care system, I understand firsthand the challenges and uncertainties that come with it. I also know the incredible strength and resilience it takes to overcome those challenges and pursue a brighter future.
River Jordan was born from my deep desire to give back to the community that shaped me. I’ve been where many foster youth are today, and I’ve seen the difference that guidance, support, and opportunity can make. That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to creating programs and resources that provide foster youth with a winning strategy for when they age out of the system—so they don’t have to face the world alone.
Through services like life skills coaching, transitional housing, and peer mentorship, River Jordan equips foster youth with the tools they need to build successful, independent lives. But more than that, we offer hope, community, and the belief that every foster child has the potential to achieve greatness.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Whether you’re here as a youth seeking support, a volunteer ready to make a difference, or a donor looking to invest in brighter futures, know that you’re part of a family that is changing lives one step at a time. Together, we are creating a bridge to a better tomorrow.
With gratitude and hope,
Founder & CEO, River Jordan

You Can Be a Difference Maker - Without YOU This Program Can’t Change Lives
Michigan’s foster care statistics reveal an urgent need for support as youth age out of the system. Without resources, many face homelessness, limited education, and poor job prospects. Financial contributions directly reduce these risks, offering essential pathways to stable housing, education, and employment.
Recovery involves awareness of the situation that led to your removal from your caregivers.
Recovery means understanding the situation of your caregiver that impacted their ability to take care of you.
Recovery means accepting the reality of your past and where you are today
Recovery means offering grace to yourself and others and arriving at a place of peace and forgiveness.
