We seek to prepare and equip youth starting at age 14 with resources and skills necessary to build recovery capital before they age out of foster care to help them become independent, responsible, and thriving members of society.
Empowerment for both current and former foster youth is something we work to inspire with our enrollees. We help youth develop skills necessary to be self-sufficient after transitioning out and becoming independent.
We know how hard it is to get on track when you leave foster care. That is why we offer support for life. We are your forever family. You can always come to us when you are struggling. No judgment here, just love, support and accountability.
We never expect anyone to “just get over it.” Recovery takes time with lifelong support. Our programs are designed to help individuals address, maintain, live a life of solid recovery.
River Jordan provides transitional housing and life skills coaching to ensure foster youth avoid becoming part of the 20% of aged-out foster children who face homelessness within 18 months of leaving care.
By fostering safe environments and mentorship, River Jordan helps protect foster youth from becoming part of the 60% of trafficking victims who have a history in the foster care system.
Through education, support, and life skills training, River Jordan empowers foster youth to break cycles of substance abuse, a risk faced by 34% of youth who age out of foster care without proper guidance.
With peer support and counseling, River Jordan actively addresses the mental health challenges that contribute to the heightened risk of suicide among foster youth, who are nearly four times more likely to attempt it than their peers.
As foster care recovery coaches, we have lived experience in foster care. We are where we are today because someone was there for us.
